1 to die, 2 get life term for murder in Gazipur

A court here on Monday sentenced a man to death and two others to life term imprisonment for killing a hospital employee in Tongi Station Road area in 2015.
The death-row convict is Al Amin alias mugger Alamin while the lifers are Raki alias Rakib and Kakan alias Kalon.

The court also fined Tk 10,000 to the death-row convict and Tk 5,000 to two life terms convicts, in defaults, they will have to serve three more months’ rigorous imprisonment.
According to the prosecution, Amir Hossain Ringku, son of Abul Kaiyum of Nabinagar upazila in Brahmanbaria and an employee of Regent Hospital in capital’s Uttara area, was hacked indiscriminately by the convicts on Ashanullah Master Flyover on June 12, 2015, over previous enmity. 

Later, he succumbed to his injuries at Tongi General Hospital. 

Victim’s father filed a murder case on June 13 with Tongi Police Station against 12 people, naming four of them.

Later, sub-inspector Belal Hossian, also investigating officer of the case, submitted charge sheet against the trio after investigation.

After examining all the records and witnesses, AKM Enamul Haque, judge of Gazipur district and session judges court, handed down the verdict.
