Memorandum at home ministry for Utpal's safe return

With no trace of journalist Utpal Das for over a month, leaders of journalist community today submitted a memorandum to the home ministry, demanding prompt steps for his safe return.

Arranged by Narsingdi Journalists Association, journalists of Dhaka Union of Journalists, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists and Dhaka Reporters Unity first held a rally in front of the Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka around noon.

Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists faction president, and Shaban Mahmud, president of Dhaka Union of Journalists, addressed the rally among others.

From Jatiya Press Club, the journalists brought out a silent procession towards the secretariat. Around 1:00pm, a representative group of the journalists handed over the memorandum to the home ministry.
