UNESCO Recognition: Celebratory rally held in Netherlands

The UNESCO’s recognition of the historic 7 March 1971 speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was celebrated in the Netherlands on Saturday.

The Embassy of Bangladesh in The Hague along with the Bangladesh community in the Netherlands celebrated this unique recognition with due solemnity and festivity on its Chancery premises.

A large number of expatriate Bangladeshis living in the Netherlands and the officials of the Embassy along with their family members joined the celebration.

The programme started with reading out of the messages of President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The video clip of the historic 7th March speech was screened on the occasion apart from holding a discussion meeting.

Mentioning the 7th March speech an Epic, Bangladesh Ambassador to the Netherlands Sheikh Mohammed Belal highlighted the significance of this historic Speech of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for the independence of Bangladesh.
