2 held with 550 Phensedyl bottles in Satkhira

Detectives in a drive arrested two suspected drug peddlers along with 550 bottles of Phensidyl syrup at Palashpole in the district town on Saturday night. 

Ali Ahmed Hashemi, inspector of district Detective Branch, said he along with other detectives went to Palashpole being tipped-off that a gang of drug peddlers would take a consignment of drugs through the area. 

Later, the law enforcers waylaid a truck, coming from Kaliganj upazila, around 8:30 pm and recovered 550 bottles of Phensidyl syrup after searching the vehicle.

The detectives arrested two men Babar Ali, son of Abdul Gafur of Kaliganj upazila, and Al-Amin, son of Moksed Ali of Debhata upazila from the truck. 

During primary interrogation, Babar and Al-Amin confessed that they were taking the contraband syrup to Dhaka, said Inspector Hashemi.
