Children avert train accident in Rajshahi

Two minor boys stopped a train by waving maflar, an ware to mitigate cold, averting an accident of a railway oil tanker worth around Taka one crore on Monday. 

According to the railway sources, they stopped the Rajshahi bound train from Khulna at Jhina railway gate, around 400 kilometers off Arani station under Bagha upazila in the district, when they witness a broken fishplate around 9.30 am. 

Confirming the news Noyan Ahmed, Master of Arani Railway Station, said driver of the train KM Mohiuddin witnessed their signal and stopped the train. Then he told us after watching the broken line.

Thereafter, the railway authorities halted all trains travelling in the western zone.

The situation returned to normal within around two hours after the fishplate was restored.

The talented boys were identified as Sihab, 6, son of Suman Hossain and Titon Islam, 7, son of Mohidul Islam, both of Jhina village. They are the students of class one and class two respectively in Jhina Government Primary School.
