A 15-kilometre long tailback has been created on Dhaka-Tangail highway since Monday morning due to slow vehicular movement caused by four-lane construction work on the busy highway.

Abdus Salam, officer-in-charge of Salna highway police station, said as a result of slow vehicular movement, hundreds of vehicles remained stuck on the highway around a 15-kilometre stretch from Chandra in Gazipur to Gorai in Tangail, making the journey difficult mainly for north-bound passengers.

However, traffic police were working at different points to ease the congestion, the OC added.
