Brahmanbaria clash leaves 15 injured

At least 15 people were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over a trifling matter at Tholiara village in Sadar upazila on Monday morning.

Sub-inspector of Sadar Model Police Station Md Istiaq Ahmed said the incident ensued around 8:45 am following an altercation over destroying some of paddy saplings of Sabur Miah by a herd of duck owned by Kuddus Miah of the village.

At one stage, the people of Sabur Miah and Kuddus Miah, equipped with locally-made weapons, attacked each other, leaving 15 people of both groups injured.

The injured were admitted to Sadar hospital where they again locked into a scuffle, the SI added.

On information, police rushed in and brought the situation under control.
