2 hurt in Laxmipur UP polls clash, 1 held

Two people were injured in a clash between the supporters of two union parishad member candidates in Char Alexander union of Ramgati upazila on Thursday morning.

Witnesses said the clash ensued between the supporters of Solaiman Hawlader and Firoz Kabir Babul Hawlader at Char Alexander Government Primary School centre around 10:30 am.

They also blasted several crude bombs at the centre and a chase and counter chase took place between the two groups.

Later, police charged baton to bring the situation under control.

Meanwhile, police arrested one Mansura Begum from Paschim Char Government Primary School centre for casting fake vote.
