Bus ploughs into roadside shop, one killed

A truck ploughed into a shop in Hotapara area on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Gazipur Sadar upazila early Thursday, leaving a young man dead on the spot.
The deceased was identified as Biplab Miah, 25, son of Shahidul Mandal of Kalampur village in Sariakandi upazila of Bogra district.
Police and fire service sources said the accident took place in the area around 2 am as the driver lost control over the steering and crashed into a hardware shop on the roadside.
On information, a team of fire service from Sreepur fire service and civil defense station rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for autopsy, said Md Abdul Hai, officer-in-charge of Naojor Highway Police Outpost.
Police also seized the truck, the OC added.
