4 burnt people die in Rangpur hospital

Four people, who were admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital with serious burn injuries, died at the hospital on Friday morning.

The deceased were identified as Gita Rani, 25, a resident of Birganj upazila of Dinajpur district, Afroza, 75, hailing from Nilphamari district, Rumki, 27, a resident of Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat district, and Makbul, 62, of Dinajpur district.

Hospital sources said the four victims sustained burn injuries while warming themselves standing beside flame amid cold on January 6 and January 7.

Later, they were admitted to the burn unit of Rangpur Medical College Hospital, said Nur-E-Alam, assistant director of the hospital.
