Case filed against 6 cops over Habiganj gunfight

A case was filed against six policemen in connection with a ‘gunfight’ that killed former ward councilor in Chunarughat municipality.
The accused policemen are—sub-inspectors Ataur Rahman, Omar Faruk, assistant sub-inspectors Delaur and Sajid Miah and constables Monindya Chakma and Abdul Hamid.
Victim’s wife filed the case with Chunarughat Police station against the six policemen and unidentified 5-7 people on Tuesday, said the lawyer of the petitioner.
Earlier on January 1, Yunus Miah, 40, former councilor of ward no.9 in Chunarughat municipality, was killed in a reported gunfight with police personnel at Magurunda village of Chunarughat upazila.
