Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Saturday said BNP will lose its registration if it does not take part in the next general election.

“BNP must join the next polls. Or else, they’ll lose their registration as a political party,” he said while talking to reporters after visiting work on a rail overpass at Shashangachha in the city.

About BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s allegation that BNP is being threatened, Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said actions will be taken if they can come up with any proof or information to this end. “BNP talks in the air…we won’t trust those.”

The overpass, constructed at a cost of Tk 65 crore, is expected to be opened to traffic in March next.
