Buddhist monk hacked dead in Bandarban

A Buddhist monk was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants at Baishari in Naikhyangchhari upazila early Saturday.
The dead was identified Mong Swe U, 75, a monk of Chak Nirban Buddist Temple.
The monk's daughter in-law said, she found the throat-slit body of her father in-law when she went to the temple o serve his breakfast.
On information, a team of law enforcers went to the spot and recovered the body of the elderly monk, said Baishari police investigation centre ASI Kazi Ahsan.
The reason behind the killing is yet to be ascertained, the police official said.
