3 JMB men held with pistol, bomb in Rajshahi

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) members arrested three suspected members of banned outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) in Puthia upazila of Rajshahi early today.

The arrestees are Shariful Islam alias Sharif, 45, Jakaria Hossain Jakkar, 43, and Ataur Rahman alias Ahsan Hazi, 35.

Tipped off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive at Jamira village during early hours of today and arrested them along with four bombs, eight bullets, two pistols, one IED and some bomb making elements, said Major AM Ashraful Islam, deputy director of Rab-5.

Details of the drive will be disclosed at a press briefing to be held later in the day.
