Bridge collapse kills 2 in Sunamganj

Two people were killed and another injured in a road accident due to collapse of a baily bridge at Laxmibaur on Chhatak-Doarabazar road in Chhatak upazila of Sunamganj early Sunday.
The deceased are Abul Kalam, 25, and Habib Ahmad, 30, hailing from Bugla union in Doarabazar upazila.
The accident took place around 12:30am as a goods-laden truck coming from Sylhet plunged into ditch due to collapse of the Laxmibaur Bridge, leaving the duo dead on the spot, said Chhatak Police Station officer-in-charge Atikur Rahman.
Following the accident, road communications on Chhatak-Doarabazar road have remained halted.
