Rangpur city’s ex-mayor Jhantu passes away

Former mayor of Rangpur City Corporation Sharfuddin Ahmed Jhantu died at a hospital in the capital on Sunday afternoon.
Jhantu, who was shifted to Dhaka from Rangpur on February 1 after he suffered a stroke, breathed his last around 3:30am at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University(BSMMU), said hospital sources.
Jhantu, also an advisor of Rangpur Awami League, was elected the first mayor of the Rangpur City Corporation on December 20, 2012.
