Law Minister Anisul Huq on Tuesday said the United Nations (UN) will put more pressure on Myanmar through the world community to take back Rohingyas.

He came up with the remarks while talking to reporters after a meeting with UN Special Advisor on the Prevention of Genocide Adama Dieng at his office.

The law minister said Adama Dieng assured Bangladesh of providing assistance in the repatriation process of the Rohingyas who fled attacks by Buddhist mobs and Myanmar security forces in Rakhine state.

The UN appreciated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s gesture to give shelter to the forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals who faced persecution back home, Anisul said, adding, “We want a peaceful solution to the issue.”
