UN Chief condoles loss of lives in Kathmandu plane crash

UN Secretary-General (SG) António Guterres has  expressed his deepest sympathies to the government, people and victims of the tragic accident of US-Bangla Airlines at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal.

He sent a condolence message to the Permanent Representative (PR) of Bangladesh to the UN Ambassador Masud Bin Momen on Tuesday through Maria Luiza Viotti, the Chef de Cabinet to UN Secretary General.

"I was extremely saddened to learn of the accident of US-Bangla Airlines flight 211 which occurred at the Tribhuvan Airport in Kathmandu," said  UN Chief in his message.

“Please accept sincere condolences on the tragic loss of lives resulting from it," the message reads.

The UN Secretary General also conveyed deepest sympathies to the Government and people of Bangladesh, as well as to the families and loved ones of the victims, saying rest assured that the United Nations family mourns with Bangladesh during this difficult period.
