4 killed as truck hits auto-rickshaw in Bhairab

At least four people were killed following a head on collision between a truck and an auto-rickshaw on Bhairab-Kishoreganj road in Kaliprasad area here on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as auto-rickshaw driver Sanaullah, Monwar Hossain, 35, Masud Mia, 42 and Sajib Mia, 47. All of the victims are from Paizanpur and Kailag villages in Bajitpur upazila.
The accident took place when a Kishoreganj-bound truck collided with the auto-rickshaw at Gazirtek area around 11am leaving the auto-rickshaw driver dead on the spot and injuring five others, police said quoting witnesses.
The injured were rushed to the upazila health complex from where three severely injured were referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for better treatment.
On way to DMCH, the trio died, said AKM Kaiser, officer-in-charge of Bhairab Highway Police Station.
The bodies would be handed over to their relatives after autopsies, he added.
