Three killed in Jhenaidah road accident

Three persons have been killed and six others injured after a truck and an autorickshaw collided head-on during the heavy rain in Jhenaidah.

The accident has been reported from the district’s Laudia area around 2:30pm on Wednesday, said Kanak Kumar Das, assistant superintendent of police for Jhenaidah Sadar Circle.

One of the victims has been identified as Aslam, who appeared to be 35 years old.

Police could not identify the others immediately and all of the victims were passengers of the autorickshaw.

Das said a truck and an autorickshaw collided head-on during the torrential rain. The three-wheeler got tangled, leaving the three passengers dead on the spot.

Six of the passengers were grievously injured in the accident. They were taken to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital.
