Livelihood for Sundarban pirates will be given if they surrender: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the government will arrange livelihood for Sundarban pirates if they surrender.
RAB plays a vital role in the drives against all kinds of crimes, including terrorism, militancy and different outlawed groups, she said.
The premier made this remark while addressing 14th founding anniversary of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at RAB headquarters of Capital’s Kurmitola area today (Thursday).
On her arrival at the headquarters, the prime minister was given a guard of honour by RAB Forces Honour Guard.
Later, she joined a Darbar with the RAB officials.
The elite force, in its over 14-year journey, played a vital role in curbing crime, militancy, smuggling and drug-running.
With a view to fighting terrorism, the RAB was formed on March 26, 2004 and it started operation on July 21 in the same year. The elite force consisted of officials from the Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Air Force, Border Guard Bangladesh and Bangladesh Ansar.
The crime-busting force successfully brought law and order under control and many successful stories were made by it.
