Two killed in road accident in Sirajganj

Two persons were killed and three others were injured when a speeding bus ran over them on Hatikumrul-Banpara highway at Ramchar in Ullahpara upazila, Sirjaganj on Monday noon.
The deceased were identified as van driver Jahurul Islam, 40, son of Abu Taleb and passenger Asir Uddin, 32, son of Thandu Miah, both residents of Kalibari village of the upazila.
Abdul Qader, officer-in-charge of Hatikamrul highway police station, said the accident took place around 1:30pm as a Dhaka bound bus hit a battery-run van while crossing the highway, leaving them dead on the spot and three others injured.
On information, police recovered the bodies and sent it to hospital for autopsy. Police also seized the accused bus.
A case was filed with the police station in this connection.
