Two launches collide at Sadarghat, 5 injured

Five people were injured in a head-on collision between two launches on the Buriganga River near Sadarghat Launch Terminal in the city on Thursday.
Alamgir Kabir, joint director of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA), said the incident took place around 8:02 am when Dhaka-bound ‘MV Sabbir-2’ from Nazirpur’s Gosairhat collided head-on with Barishal-bound ‘MV Greenline-2’.
Five passengers of ‘MV-Greenine-2’ were injured during the incident, he added.
The injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The incident occurred when the ‘MV Greenland-2’ was heading towards Barishal from Lalkuthi area of the terminal, witnesses said.
