9 killed in Chattogram stampede while collecting iftar items

At least nine people were killed in a stampede as thousands of destitute people crowded for receiving iftar items at Satkania upazila in Chottogram.

Union Council Chairman Taslima Akhter said, the incident took place at Nolua union of the upazila on Monday morning.

However, identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

KSRM, a steel maker company, official Mohammad Rafique said the incident happened while his organisation was distributing iftar item among impoverished people.
