Gazette on quota soon: Cabinet secretary

Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam has said the decision of issuing gazette notification on quota system in all recruitment of the government services will be taken soon as the summary report has reached to the the prime minister’s office (PMO).

He revealed this information after a meeting of the cabinet on Monday.

Shafiul Alam said: “Hopefully, we will receive a decision on the reformation of quota system soon from the government.”

Earlier, the meeting of the cabinet, presided over by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, began at 10am where Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed and Health Minister Mohammad Nasim were present.

Students and job seekers have been observing their pre-scheduled demonstrations across the country demanding quick issuance of gazette notification on quota reformation from Sunday.
