Khaleda shown arrested in other cases, says Shajahan Khan

Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan on Friday said BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia cannot be released now as she was shown arrested in several cases.
"She (Khaleda) cannot walk out of prison right now after getting bail in the Zia Orphanage Graft Case. Khaleda can be released after getting bail in other cases," he told journalists after a function at the Circuit house in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Md Wahidul Islam, President of Madaripur District Lawyers Association Obaidur Rahman Kalu Khan and officials of local administration, among others, were present at the function.
The minister said Khaleda has no other way to get release from jail without facing the court procedures.
On May 16, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) upheld a High Court order that granted bail to BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia in a graft case and rejected two appeals against that order.
