Bangladesh-India ties now in golden era: Indian High Commissioner

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Harsh Vardhan Shringla has said that the relationship between Bangladesh and India is passing their golden chapter.

He said this while inaugurating the 5th edition of India Education Fair 2018 as the chief guest at the convention hall of Krishibid Institution (KIB) in the city on Wednesday.

South East Asia (SAPE) Events and Media Private Limited oraganised the two-day education fair. SAPE also hosts such education fairs in Sri lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam and Cambodia.

Shringla said the relationship at the political level between the two countries is very excellent while people to people contact is excellent too. 

He said both Bangladesh and India lack skilled resources at the national level, so this kind of programmes will contribute to producing potential human resources.

Founder of SAPE Sanjoy Thapa said the fair will help in apprising Bangladeshi youth about the opportunities available in India as well as Indian universities and education institutions an idea about opportunities available in Bangladesh. 

A delegation of around 50 educational institutions and universities from India are participating in the fair.

Some of the participating institutions are National Institute of Technology, Gujarat Technological University, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological, Jadhavpur University, Burdwan University, RabindraBharati, Visva-Bharati and Shantineketan .

The fair will remain open from 10am and 6pm till July 19.
