PM Sheikh Hasina reaches Suhrawardy Udyan

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has reached the historic Suhrawardy Udyan as ruling Awami League is according her a mass reception for some remarkable developments and achievements in different fields of the country under her leadership.

The Prime Minister reached the reception venue at 3:30 pm. 

Awami League Presidium Member SyedaSajeda Chowdhury will chair the function.

The reception has been arranged for attaining Bangladesh’s eligibility to graduate from a least developed country (LDC) to a developing nation, successful launching of Bangabandhu Satellite-I, Sheikh Hasina’s achieving the Global Women’s Leadership Award from US-based NGO Global Summit of Women and her receiving D. Lit from KaziNazrul University of India.

The venue, SuhrawardyUdyan, has been decorated with great fanfare. A huge L-shaped podium has been set at the venue. The entire SuhrawardyUdyan has been illuminated. A big gate has been erected at the entry point to the venue in front of MatsyaBhaban while 40 other colorful gates have been erected from the city’s MatsyaBhaban to Shishu Park area.

City streets from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s official residence Ganobhaban to the reception venue SuhrawardyUdyan also have been decorated with banners and festoons.

A cultural function was arranged with the participation of noted singers at 12 noon before the formal beginning of the function at 3pm.

A 30-minute presentation will be shown on history and heritage of Bangalee nation.
