Political intruders have been infiltrating into the peaceful movement of the students, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said today.

“Vested quarters have extended support to the students’ movement politically and attempts have been made to transform student movement as anti-government movement,” he said.

Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, came up with the remarks at a press conference after a meeting at party President Sheikh Hasina's Dhanmondi office.

Intelligence agencies are keeping an eye on some people and closely watching their movements, suspecting their links to the ongoing demonstration, the AL leader said.

Showing some photos of protest, Quader claimed that the protesters are from a political party, who joined the student’s movement.

The government has already taken immediate steps against the owner, drivers and helpers of the Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan bus, Quader mentioned.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has provided financial supports to the victims’ families and the families also urged the students to return home calling off the movement, he added.

“We have found logic behind the student’s nine-point demand. The process of implementation has started.  There is no secret here,” added the AL leader.
