Ruling out possibilities of BNP's representation in the election-time administration, Finance Minister AMA Muhith said it will be formed within 20 days.

“According to my knowledge, the Election Commission is planning to hold the voting on Dec 27,” he told the media at his offices on Wednesday after a meeting with newly-elected mayor and councillors of the Sylhet City Corporation.

Responding to a query from reporters, Muhith said, “I have seen media reports suggesting representation from the civil society in the polls-time government, which is not the case at all.”

The BNP will not be a part of the interim administration as it has no representation in parliament, said the octogenarian minister.

“Where there’s no question of the BNP being in it, how come representatives of the civil society can be a part of it. It would be a violation of the laws,” he said.
