2 ‘robbers’ killed in mob beating in Chittagong

Two suspected robbers were killed in a mob beating after they were caught by locals in Raozan upazila of Chittagong early today.

The deceased were identified as Md Moktar, 27 and Md Saiful, 28, said Sefatullah, officer-in-charge (OC) of Raozan Police station.

They were trying to break into a house in the early hours today but the women inside the house shouted after seeing them, the official said.

Upon hearing their shouts, locals rushed to the spot and saw the suspected robbers pointing arms towards the women, he said.

The locals started beating them up killing them on the spot, the OC added.

Police will send the bodies to Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy after primary investigation.
