Prime Minister provides financial assistance to 12 people

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday gave financial assistance of Tk 1.75 crore to 12 people, including the BNP-Jamaat arson attack victims and ailing Awami League leaders and workers.
She handed over cheques of donation to them at a simple ceremony held at the Prime Minister's Office.
Those who received the cheques include Nasrin Begum, wife of Joj Mian, a truck helper of Brahmanbaria, Salma Begum, wife of Monu Mia, a truck driver of the same district and Rina Parveen, wife of Md Jalaluddin, a slain inspector of Detective Branch of Police.
Joj Mian and Monu Mia sustained serious injuries in petrol bomb attack by the BNP-Jamaat in 2014, while Jalaluddin was gunned down by terrorists while going to recover illegal firearms.
Besides, the Prime Minister provided financial assistance to ailing member of Bangladesh Football Federation Fazlur Rahman and former footballer of Abahani Ltd Sheikh Ashraf Ali.
