14-party, people to resist militants: Nasim

Awami League Presidium Member, spokesman of the central 14-party alliance and Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim today said that the 14 party alliance and people together will build up resistance against militants and vested elements. 

Mohammad Nasim quoted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as saying that resistance should be made against the militants outfit. He urged people to cooperate them like the past for building resistance against vested elements.

In cooperation with the countrymen, Nasim said, "we will defeat all vested elements by making a movement against them".

He made this remark while attending a joint meeting with the leaders of Hindu-Buddha-Christian Oikka Parishad, Muktijoddha Sangsad, and Dhaka city south and north Awami League and front organizations and central 14 party leaders at Awami League president Sheikh Hasina's political office at Dhanmondi here.

AL joint secretaries Dr Dipu Moni and advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanok, office secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, information and research secretary Afzal Hossain, Hindu-Buddha-Christian Oikka Parishad general secretary Advocate Rana Das Gupta, Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad chairman major General (retd) Helal Morshed, workers party general secretary Fazle Hossain Badsha and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal general secretary Shirin Akhtar were present. 

In a planned way, Nasim said an identified section has started the violence to destabilize the country but conspiracy of them could not be succeed.

The 14 party spokesman strongly condemned and protested the death threat to information minister and president of JSD, Hasanul Haq Inu, MP, saying that such threats would not deter them its struggle against militancy, fundamentalism and communalism.
