JMB member held in C'nawabganj

police arrested 36 persons including a member of Jamaatul Mujahidin Bangladesh (JMB) on Monday night and Tuesday morning.

The arrested JMB member is Saidul Islam, 43, son of Azizur Rahman of Ajmatpur Monnatola village under Shibganj upazila of the district. 

Officer in Charge (OC) of Shibganj Thana Moinul Islam said police conducted a raid in a mango orchard at Telkupi area under Shibganj upazila on Tuesday late night and arrested Saidul Islam with four cocktails and 500 grams of gun powder. The OC said during the raid his accomplices fled away. He further added a number of cases are pending against him with different police stations.

Police control room sources said police, during the last 24 hours, also arrested 35 persons who are accused of different cases.
