Construction worker drowns in river falling from bridge in Gopalganj

A construction worker drowned in Poysa river falling from an under-construction bridge at Ramshil in Kotalipara upazila on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Shamrat Mollah, 28, son of Ishahak Mollah, a resident of Chat Matibhanga village in Najirpur upazila in Pirojpur district.

Mohammad Kamrul Faruk, officer-in-charge of Kotalipara Police Station, said Shamrat  fell down from the bridge while working with a group of workers and drowned in the river.

Later, the body was recovered from the river in the evening.
