Ershad resurfaces at JP nomination interview

Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad resurfaced this morning at the interview session of nomination aspirants of his party.

He appeared at the session, held at Emmanuelle’s Convention Centre in Dhanmondi, around 12:00pm. He is expected to deliver a speech there.

Maj (retd) Khaled Akhter, a standing committee member,confirmed The Daily Star of Ershad’s attendance and said: “He will not take any interview”.

“He will deliver a speech and instruct the party men on policies,” he added.

WHY ERSHAD WAS UNREACHABLE?

Ershad was unreachable for most of the party ranks over the last couple of days.

He is staying low in a house at Gulshan instead of his residence, President Park, in Baridhara, contacting only some close and trusted leaders of his party.

He left his residence, the President Park, on Friday, and went to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka for “check-up”. He left the hospital on Sunday but did not return.
