College teacher held with fake notes in Satkhira

Police in a drive arrested a college teacher along with counterfeit currencies worth Tk 85,000 from Palashpole area in the district town on Wednesday morning.

The arrestee was identified as Miaraj Hossain, assistant lecturer of Islamic Studies Department of Satkhira Government College, and a resident of Mergidangi of Sadar upazila.

Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Miaraj along with the fake currency notes, said Mustafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.
