Fire at Zaman Tower in city

A fire broke out at Zaman Tower, a multi-storey building which houses the office of Jatiya Oikyafront, in the city’s Bijoynagar on Friday.
The fire occurred around at about 2:40 pm on the eighth floor of the building but it is unclear what caused it, said Rasel Shikdar, duty officer of fire service control room.
Oikyafront’s office is on the third floor of the building.
“We fear it is an act of sabotage to impede our works before the national election,” said Latiful Bari Hamim, Oikyafront’s media wing member.
Eight firefighting units are trying to extinguish the fire, said Rasel Shikdar.
The extent of damage could not be known immediately.
