JP to announce role in JS tomorrow

Jatiya Party, a key component of Awami League-led 14-Party Grand Alliance, will announce its role in the 11th parliament tomorrow.

The decision on whether JP will remain in the Grand Alliance and what will be their role in the parliament will be announced tomorrow, JP Secretary General Moshiur Rahman Ranga told reporters after a joint meeting of the party in Dhaka this morning.

The meeting was attended by JP presidium members, newly-elected MPs, party insiders said.

Notably, JP, which played the role of opposition in the last parliament, yesterday expressed dissatisfaction over the outcome of the 11th parliamentary election held on Sunday.

Reflecting on it, Ranga said, “The party expected to win more than 22 seats in the election."
