AL to hold rally in Dhaka Jan 19 marking polls victory

The ruling Awami League (AL) will hold a grand rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka on January 19 on the occasion of securing absolute majority in the 11th parliamentary election.

The rally will be held around 2:30pm on the day where AL President Sheikh Hasina will attend the programme as the chief guest, according to a press release.

Sheikh Hasina is going to form the government for the third consecutive term as AL-led 14-party grand alliance secured 288 seats out of 299 in the December 30 national election.

AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader called upon all the leaders and activists of the party to attend the rally in a bid to make it successful.

Besides, Quader will hold a joint meeting with the general secretaries of the party’s different front and associate bodies at AL Bangabandhu Avenue central office around 11:00am tomorrow.

Quader also asked presidents and general secretaries of the party’s associate bodies to attend the meeting at due time.
