Fire breaks out at Chattogram ship breaking yard

A fire broke out at a ship breaking yard at Fouzdarhat area of Sitakundu in Chattogram this afternoon.
The fire broke out around 2:00pm at Abdullah Ghat area where oil from the discarded ships are stored, Abdul Mannan, said deputy director of Chittagong Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters.
Around five fire-fighting units were working to bring the blaze under control, the official said. It is not sure yet how the fire originated.
There were no reports of any injury until this report was filed at 2:50pm.
