Kidnapped youth rescued in Pallabi; 3 kidnappers held

A young man, who was kidnapped from Shakta area under Keraniganj Model thana on Saturday, was rescued from Pallabi early Monday.

The rescued was Md Shahed, 32.

Md Shahed said that he used to work in a gents parlor in Shanir Akhra area where he got acquainted with the kidnappers.

They picked him up in a CNG-run auto rickshaw in the evening and demanded Tk 1.20 lakh ransom money from his wife over phone addressing themselves as police of Detective branch.

Later, his wife filed a case.

Tracking mobile phone of the kidnappers, police rescued Shahed from Begunbari slum early in the morning and arrested three kidnappers-Shyamal, 47, Jabed, 27 and Shamsu, 42, said Md Rafiq, sub-inspector of Keraniganj Model Police Station.
