Bangladesh protests Myanmar’s false allegations over ‘terror attack’

Bangladesh has strongly protested Myanmar’s absolute false allegations of Bangladesh’s part in a terrorist attack on a police post in Maungdaw Township near the boundary pillar No 41 in the early hours of January 24.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry on Tuesday afternoon summoned Myanmar Ambassador in Dhaka Lwin Oo and handed over a strongly-worded protest note to him.

The Myanmar envoy entered the ministry around 5pm and came out of it around 5:45pm.

“The government of Bangladesh is utterly disgruntled to notice some reports in Myanmar media based on irresponsible and false allegations by the officials of the General Administration Department of Myanmar implicating Bangladesh into a terrorist attack on a police post in Maungdaw Township near Boundary Pillar No 41 in the early hours of January 24, 2019,” the Foreign Ministry said in the protest note.
