2 killed in Sunamganj bailey bridge collapse

Two people were killed after a truck fell into a ditch following the collapse of a bailey bridge in Ronbidya area of Bishwambharpur Upazila on Thursday.

Shafiul Alam, additional deputy commissioner of Sunamganj, said the bridge collapsed around noon. “The rod-laden truck, carrying a group of workers, fell down into the ditch following the bridge collapse,” he said.

On information, police and fire service teams rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies from the truck and rescued five workers.

Details about the deceased could not be known yet.
