13 shops gutted in Chattogram fire

Thirteen shops were gutted in a fire which broke out at College Bazar Road in Mirsarai upazila early Friday.
Jashimuddin, Assistant director of Chattogram Fire Service and Civil Defense, said the fire originated from electric short circuit at a shop of a kitchen market around 12:15 am and spread soon.
On information, a firefighting unit went to the spot and extinguished the blaze after three hours of frantic efforts around 4:30 am.
The affected shop owners said that the extent of loss caused by the fire could go up to Tk 15 lakh.
