World's largest on-demand ride-sharing company Uber launched its operation in Sylhet, the third city in Bangladesh, on Sunday.

The American online transportation network company hit Dhaka streets in 2016 and it started its journey in Chattogram in 2018.

Head of cities South Asia Uber, Prabhjeet Singh said that they are thrilled to launch operation in Sylhet.

‘We will be able to provide mobility options and flexible income opportunities to the people of Sylhet after launching this service’, Singh said.

Uber MOTO has proven to be the most efficient way to get around with an average speed of 16 - 17 km/h whereas 11-12 km/h on cars.

Bangladesh is expected to contribute 25% of Uber’s growth in the region in 2019. On average, a rider can find an Uber in less than five minutes in both Dhaka and Chittagong and 13% of Uber’s rider base now use Uber almost six times a week, the press release said.
