EU extends condolence over Chawkbazar fire

European Union has extended its condolence over the incident of Chawkbazar fire that has left 69 people dead so far.

European delegation in Bangladesh issued a condolence message this morning, extending sympathy for the victims.

"The EU Delegation expresses its heartfelt condolences for all those affected by the fire which occurred at Old Dhaka's Chawkbazar on 20 February,” said Konstantinos Vardakis, in-charge of affairs of EU in Bangladesh.

“Our thoughts are with the Government and people of Bangladesh as well as with the bereaved families and friends of the victims during such difficult time,” the message read.

“The EU Delegation wishes speedy recovery of those injured in the incident," it added.
