The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Sunday handed over a detained member of Border Guard Police (BGP) to Myanmar officials.

BGP man Ang Bon Thing, from Yangun of Myanmar, was detained for intruding into Bangladesh territory through Bhallukkhaia at Naikhangchhari bordering area on 24 January.

The handover ceremony was held following a flag meeting between the two neighbouring countries' border forces at the zero point near Ghumdhum border around 11:00pm, said Ali Haidar Azad, commanding officer of BGB-34.
