Circular bus service will be started between Uttara and Motijheel route in the capital soon like the circular bus service route for Dhanmondi- New Market- Azimpur in the capital.

Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sayeed Khokon came up with the information on Wednesday after a meeting at DSCC conference room in the capital. The mmeting was held on bus route rationalisation aimed at bringing discipline in the transport sector .

The DSCC mayor said the circular bus service from Motijheel will begin at the last week of this month while the bus service from Uttara will begin at the first week of May.

“Through this service, city passengers would be able to go easily at low cost. Besides, this bus service will help in lowering traffic congestion in the city. Passengers will have the scope to pay the bus fare through their rapid pass card sitting on the buses,” Sayeed Khokon said.

The DSCC mayor also said a total of 4,500 new buses will run in the capital under some designated companies. The works on route rationalization will take two years time. Because, training is essential for the workers/staffs of terminal, depot and drivers of the buses and circular bus service in the capital is also a part of this route rationalisation.
