Love country and be politically aware: Dipu Moni

Education Minister Dipu Moni on Thursday urged university students to love the country and be politically aware.

“Be politically aware even if you don’t do active politics. Only being a good student is not enough, you have to love the country,” she said, while inaugurating the academic activities of newly-established Khulna Agricultural University (KAU) at the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

The inauguration was held at the DC’s office as the main campus of KAU is situated in an area under Daulatpur Police Station, around 12 kilometers away from the main city of Khulna.

Dipu Moni said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman realized the importance of agriculture for the country, and today’s agriculturally self-reliant and developed Bangladesh was in fact initiated by him.

The policy of KAU to expand knowledge of agriculture as a science to compete with the developed countries is enough to bring about an agricultural revolution in country, Dipu Moni said.
